LIQUOR STORE STORIES
Liquor Stores are historical landmarks that are part of our community. They are often placed in low income areas and neighborhoods, they become associated with high crime, illegal activities and are blamed for high obesity and alcoholism rates but they signify much more to the ones that have grown up close to them.
his photograph recollects memories of teenage years that are accompanied by the sound of music and Yaz Reve's thoughts. At that age, most teenagers connect through music and as she grows up, she deals with the way music affects her new stage in life.
In this work, Yaz Reve is found in the midst of her own brain, books are considered by the artist as a top priority and knowledge no matter from where it is from is still knowledge. She often finds herself browsing through books she read years ago and regardless of present time, she is able to reconnect with the essence of who she was in the moment she read the book and take old Yaz into her new phase of her life.

THE COLLECTION
The Collection involves exploration into a new stage of life. While encountering new as an adult, one seeks to understand the idea of humans immortalizing who they are in the moment by what they choose to preserve and cherish while venturing into healing the inner child in the process.
